Pacing at the Mohican 100 Mile Race

I got to pace my buddy Vince at Mohican 100 this year. For those who are non runners, a pacer is a person that runs with a racer and helps them during the last part of pretty long races like 100 milers. I was a bit nervous to pace Vince due to the fact everyone expect him to do very well and wasn't sure if I would be able to keep up with him. He and my friend Lloyd convinced me otherwise. Lloyd was great. He has paced tons of times and gave me some really good pointers. Thanks Lloyd!

I met up with Vince at mile 60 at the Fire Tower Aid station and with him until the end. I had a total blast and Vince did AWESOME. He placed 6th overall with a time of 20 hours 45 minutes.

People warned me that pacing at these events can cause a person to get the 100 mile bug. I do keep getting asked if I am going to do one. Guess we'll see.

The picture is of Vince, Holly (our awesome crew), and me at the finish taken by Lloyd. Thanks again Lloyd!
